Zusammenfassung: | Introduction: the evaluation of scientific trends in Internal Medicine affects the decision-making and training of an internist capable of providing a more comprehensive service to the sick adult population. Objective: to describe the scientific production on Internal Medicine in the journal Universidad Médica Pinareña between 2005 and 2017. Method: a bibliometric study was carried out in 41 articles on internal medicine published in the journal Universidad Médica Pinareña between 2005 and 2017. The information was processed using absolute and relative frequencies, calculating the Price indices and annual collaboration. The final results were presented in statistical tables and graphs with respect to bioethical principles. Results: 21,69 % of all publications were on Internal Medicine with a thematic predominance on non-communicable diseases (24,39 %), as well as articles with 4 authors (56,10 %). The most productive specialties were Internal Medicine (19,51 %) and Comprehensive General Medicine (14,63 %). According to typology, the review articles predominated (48,78 %), with an average of 20,4 bibliographic references , mostly in Spanish (71,17 %) and an average Price index of 0,61. Primary health care contributed 22 % of the works and 5 investigations were from other provinces. Conclusions: the study reflected the comprehensive training of appropriate students of investigative and scientific skills of the Internal Medicine specialty, tutored in the study of the main causes of morbidity and mortality in adults. |
