Primary school 'Leposavić': Exercises running facility of the Teacher's faculty

Reliable source are telling us that the school in Leposavić was founded in 1919 during the time of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenians. It was dedicated exclusively to gifted male children. Since then it has changed several locations and buildings in which educational process was being run. Before that, there had been the school in Vračevo, which was open during the First Serbian rising from 1806. After the explanation of basic concepts (educational process, primary school, exercises running, Leposavić) and historic overview of this institution development and interesting details from the passed period conserved in the School Chronicle in this paper are analysed the results achieved during and officially registered at the end of schooling year 2012/2013. What is to be specific for this school, as per which it differs from the ones in the Republic of Serbia, is its multi years' experience in the co-operation with the representatives of KFOR and UNMIK, which donated some resources for part of school building renovation. The primary school 'Leposavić' from Leposavić has been performing the function of exercises running facility for a longer period (from 1999) for the students of Teacher's Faculty from Prizren (Leposavić) and the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education from Prishtina (Leposavić). Each year a number of students is opting to perform their compulsory pedagogic practice in this institution. Some of them managed to find their working place. Educational process is run as per curricula passed by the Ministry of Education in the Government of RS. A great value for the school in Leposavić is a regular and consciently keeping and maintenance of the Chronicle of school in which pages are entered and evidenced important events connected with school and political happenings in this area. During the school year 2012/2013 the teaching in Primary school 'Leposavić' commenced in 33 classes, out of which 18 was of class teaching and 15 of subject teaching. Besides in home schools in Leposavić, class teaching was being run in separate classrooms in Kijevčić, Jošanica and Dren. Besides regular teaching, pupils had the opportunity to choose and include themselves in a number of activities. Comparing with the previous school year, the achieved working results of pupils were better. 655 pupils attended the teaching, and 94 workers were employed.
