Zusammenfassung:Taking up the long historical thread of the multidimensional centrality of mountains, broken by depopulation and abandonment in the second half of the last century, the Camaldoli Manifesto envisages new roles of centrality for mountain territories, founded on resistance, resilience and self-government, and founding towards a general renewal of settlement and development models; a new civilization that, starting from the evidence of the crisis of metropolitan models, advocates the recognition of places with a high density of patrimonial values – firstly the mountains – as a forgotten treasure trove of deep riches to draw on in order to reorganize socio-territorial relations and quality horizons of housing and production for the entire country.
