Zusammenfassung:This literature review deals with knowledge and beliefs about epilepsy and with the attitude of patients, relatives, and society as a whole towards epilepsy. It discusses the stigma that is associated with the  disease and has a strong impact on patients with epilepsy and their  families. The problems of stigma or related concepts in different countries are analyzed.
