The genome sequence of the Dark Crimson Underwing moth, Catocala sponsa Linnaeus, 1767

We present a genome assembly from an individual female (the Dark Crimson Underwing; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Erebidae). The genome sequence spans 803.70 megabases. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 32 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z and W sex chromosomes. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 15.57 kilobases in length. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 13,493 protein-coding genes.
