Zusammenfassung:Novel strategies are needed to provide universal health care to underserved rural and urban slum populations in India. We searched the existing literature regarding community health workers using mHealth strategies in India and other low and lower-middle income countries. The search was performed using the PUBMED database. Inspite of dearth of evidence from India, the use of mHealth tools by ASHA with caution have a potential of 'novelty effect' on chronic disease surveillance in the community settings.
