Zusammenfassung: | The impact of higher education is reflected in both individual and collective benefits, economic and non-economic. For example, if pursuing higher education means an increased chance of employment at the individual level and of being better paid, at the macroeconomic level, a higher share of the population with higher education is associated with lower unemployment rates, with an increase in productivity and, consequently, with an acceleration of economic growth. The economic advantages of higher education are complemented by non-economic advantages such as: increased manifestation of civic spirit, increased care and better health, a decrease in crime etc. among the population with higher education. This article aims to highlight some of the economic and non-economic benefits, individual or collective, of higher education, starting on the one hand from information in the literature and on the other hand from official statistical information, using EU statistical information. |
