ANIMAL NAMES IN KARACA OGLAN POEMS

In this study, the importance of animal names in our language and culture was mentioned. Then, the animal names in Karaca Oglan poems were detected one by one and reported in detail as in how many of the poems and how many times they are seen. Aşık's purpose of using certain animal names was also stated. Seen in Karaca Oglan poems however rarely or never used today, the animal names; askar, bahrî, balaban, boz, beserek, ceran (ceren, ceyran), eke, ergeç, hecin, ibicek, ispir, kır, köşek, kuzgun, maral, maya, öşek, pervane, pohur, sağmal, seyfi, sığın, şahbaz, taylak, turaç, tutu (dudu), yoz… were detected and given meaning with the purpose of retrieval. In this study names of animals will be classified by taking in to considerationof their some features and will focus on how to use aspects of the animal names by poems.
