Zusammenfassung:In this research, in order to determine the performance of distance of submerged vanes on sediment transport to inlet a physical model was performed in a 180 degree bend. For this purpose, experiments were carried out in a laboratory rectangular channel made of Plexiglas at 180 degree bend, filled with sedimentary bed under clear water condition. In this research a series of experiments were done by insert two rows of vanes made of Plexiglas in front of lateral intake. Experiments were done by using two rows of parallel vanes with four different discharges under with vanes and without vanes conditions. In each experiment, the main channel discharge and diversion channel discharge, sediment discharge through the diversion and transmission were measured. The results of this research showed that the performance of the parallel submerged vanes for path of sediments diverting are depends on distance of vanes and suitable performance for reduce of sediment transport to intake was observed for the relative height of 0.32 (34 percent). Also, entering water rate is directly proportional with entering sediment rate and entering sediment rate were increased with increasing of entering water rate in all distances of vanes.
