Zusammenfassung:One may observe depressed tibial plateau fractures alone or in conjunction with intricate proximal tibia fractures. Traditionally, in complex fractures, the depressed fragment can be elevated by passing a bone tamp through the fracture itself. Even though a number of tools have been used for this specific purpose, it can be challenging in isolated fractures due to difficulty in aiming and tracking minor depression, as well as the risks of the elevating device becoming intraarticularly penetrated or expansion of the medial metaphyseal window. We described a simple and effective technique with the use of a Steinmann pin for the elevation of lateral tibial plateau depressed fractures (Schatzker type III). We have successfully treated twentyfour cases so far.
