Zusammenfassung:Biofuels are one of the strategies proposed for adaptation and mitigation to global warming; Originated by greenhouse gases, considered as the most important anthropogenic disturbance that the man has realized on the natural resources. Atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases (GHGs) are mainly carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O), CO2 released by the burning of fossil fuels (oil, coal, gas). Biofuels are liquid fuels produced from agricultural crops that are obtained through industrialization to obtain fuel (ethanol and biodiesel) and are considered to have very little ecological footprint. The objective of this paper is to analyze the potential of this agroindustry, mainly in the state of Veracruz, and whether the industry is a reality or a myth.
