Zusammenfassung:	This article reviews currently available data on complications after penile implant surgery (using one-, two-, and three-piece devices) to decrease the frequency of perioperative complications and improve cosmetic and functional results of the surgery. Furthermore, we found that the level of surgical experience has a significant impact on the efficacy of penile implant surgery, if a special regimen of asepsis and antiseptics is strictly followed.
