Zusammenfassung: | Blood pressure response after circuit resistance exercise in upper and lower limbs The aim of this study was to compare the response of heart rate (HR), systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic (DBP) between circuit resistance exercise (CRE) protocols performed with upper and lower limbs (UL and LL). Eleven female volunteers, eutrophic and normotensive (age 23.5 [+ or -] 2.8 years, body mass index 20.5 [+ or -] 1.5) participated. The volunteers were submitted to anamnesis, anthropometry and measurement of blood pressure (BP) and resting HR. After, we used a test of 20 repetitions maximum (RM) to detect the loads used in the protocol of CRE. The CRE protocol consisted of four exercises, each with 15 repetitions (20RM load), performed six times in two sessions (UL and LL). Each session lasted 30 minutes with 20 seconds rest between exercises. After the CRE, the BP and HR were recorded for 60 minutes with 5 minute intervals. Analysis of variance followed by post-hoc Tukey test and significance level of 5% was used. There was a reduction in SBP of 35 to 60 minutes after CRE with UL, but after LL was reduced only to 60 minutes (p |
