Zusammenfassung:In the almost 4 decades since the appearance of the first cases of AIDS, the literature on this process has been enormous. But it is surprising the paucity of mentions about Andy Warhol´s thoughts on it. Warhol was a notorious homosexual, frequently attacked by his unwrapped way to live such a condition. In his Diaries, AIDS, then closely linked to homosexuality, occupies a prominent role. During his last 10 years Warhol dictated them almost daily to his secretary Pat Hackett. Published 2 year posthumously, in 2007 they were translated into spanish. Regarding AIDS, since the first allusion –in 1982, noting that in Amsterdam all homosexuals are afraid to contract “gay cancer” - until the last (14/1/1987), there are 40 dedicated quotes. There are fears, -he repeatedly calls them “taboo disease”-, prejudices, gossips or fatal news. He confesses his lack of sexual promiscuity but declares his fear to contract it: he fears to drink in glasses, uses his own makeup, manifests apprehension by a kiss of Calvin Klein –with a gossip of his suffering-and so on. Especially painful is the avoidance of his friend photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, who will actually die of AIDS, although 2 years after Warhol. Andy. Thus, the famous New York designer Halston -deceased, 1990- or the young Ryan White, hemophilic with AIDS expelled from a school, that would reach great media repercussion. There are 7 significative comments dedicated to the suffering and death of Rock Hudson. Other celebrated artists and collaborators, who would die for this cause are Jean-Michel Basquiat (heroine overdose-1988) or Keith Haring (homosexual, SIDA-1989).
