Zusammenfassung: | Adipsin has been identified as a secreted adipokine that plays a critical pathogenic role in metabolic disorders. However, it is not clear regarding the association of circulating adipsin with cardiovascular disease (CVD). This study will explore the association between circulating adipsin and asymptomatic carotid atherosclerosis in Chinese obese adults.
A total of 483 obese adult subjects (aged 40 years or older) were enrolled in this study. Serum adipsin concentrations and carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) were measured to determine these associations.
