Zusammenfassung: | Importance of information management procedures and practice based on of defined and accepted frame within an organization, is discussed. It is a common presumption that transformation of data into information brings the level of knowledge to support right decision making. However, these efforts and investments often do not result in increased efficiency, due to absence of well defined and designed transactional and informational systems. As a consequence, many organizations are 'rich' in data, but still 'poor' in information. Difference between transactional (or operational) and informational systems are highlighted, too. |
