Zusammenfassung:The paper analyses the results of a survey, conducted on Italian teachers in the 2018/2019 school year. The survey aimed to investigate the point of view of mathematics teachers regarding the features of mathematics textbooks used in class and the ideal features that a mathematics textbook should have. In this paper, we focus on two topics: the general degree of satisfaction of the textbook used by the teacher with its motivation and the type of use of this textbook. We report and analyse the answers to two questions addressed to primary school teachers, who filled in the survey on a voluntary basis. The results seem to show a coherent scenario, in which both the positive and the negative aspects of mathematics textbooks highlighted by the teachers are in line with the use they declared.
