Zusammenfassung:This study was focused on narrow bore columns (0.18 mm of internal diameter) used in gas chromatography to determine highly volatile beer flavour compounds. The narrow columns were compared with usually applied columns with 0.32 mm of internal diameter. Volatile compounds were extracted from beer matrix by the headspace method. A flame ionization detector was used to detect the analytes. The new columns can be successfully used to detect very volatile flavour compounds in beer. The run time may be shorter by up to 65 %.
