Zusammenfassung: | Developing vocabulary skills is a crucial task in teaching Vietnamese, fulfilling the specific objective of the subject, which is to develop students’ language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking). This task has traditionally been accomplished mainly through lessons on expanding vocabulary by topic, followed by integration into Reading, Spelling, Writing, Storytelling lessons, and other educational activities. Based on research achievements in teaching Vietnamese methods in communicative activities, we have studied measures to develop vocabulary skills for 4th and 5th-grade students through the process of writing paragraph and essays - the process of language production. Using theoretical research methods, this paper proposes a system of measures to develop vocabulary skills for students through the stages of the writing process: (1) Developing vocabulary skills through analyzing sample paragraph and essays, (2) Developing vocabulary skills through idea generation and development activities, (3) Developing vocabulary skills through writing paragraph and essays, (4) Developing vocabulary skills through the process of revising and perfecting paragraph and essays. These measures effectively apply integrated teaching perspectives in teaching Vietnamese at the elementary level. Keywords: Development; vocabulary skills; paragraph writing; essay writing. |
