Zusammenfassung:In the humanist movement of defense of fiction against new attacks of immorality in Europe after the conclusion of the Council of Trent , Alonso López Pinciano’s Philosophía antigua poética occupies a place of choice . A doctor by profession, and philosopher by vocation , Alonso López Pinciano proposes at the end of the 16th century a real philosophy of literature that takes into account not only its essence and its purpose but also, and perhaps above all, the nature of the man who created it (the poet), and the man to whom it is addressed (the reader). From these anthropological premises, Pinciano proposes the rehabilitation of fiction that should be considered not as a false and therefore reprehensible, narrative, but as the best way to educate a humanity that is not only rational but also corporeal and responsive. A new perception, then, of literary fiction and its virtuality is created that could have significantly influenced the brilliant literary fecundity of Spanish sixteenth century.
