Zusammenfassung:The objective of this work was to analyze the context, distribution and attributes of the sphincterophora artifacts from Santa Catarina State. For this purpose, the two largest thematic collections of the Southern Region of Brazil, belonging to the Sambaqui Archaeological Museum of Joinville (MASJ) and the Sambaqui Man Museum "were selected. Joao Alfredo Rohr, S.J.", in Florianopolis. During the development of this research, unpublished primary sources such as iconographies, manuscripts, technical opinions (belonging to Fr. Joao Alfredo Rohr) and Guilherme Tiburtius notebooks were analyzed, where he makes the first description of the collection bearing his name. We have also been able to document zoomorphos unpublished in museums in the state of Santa Catarina, and in the Museo de America, in Madrid, Spain, which had been taken there in 1778, when Florianopolis (then Exterro) had been occupied by Spanish troops. The research made use of archeohistoriography on the theme zooliths and use of precision equipment, such as digital scale, steel pachymeter, semiprofessional camera, for the survey of the attributes of the studied zoomorfos. The results were the survey of the sambaquis that presented / displayed zooliths; sambaquis who presented zoolites as funeral furniture; and zooliths out of sambaquis; map of the zoolite dispersion in the state of Santa Catarina; tables of sites / burials / amount of zooliths / skeletons / genres and attribute sheets with 10 specific fields: 1) Characteristics; 2) Part registration number; 3) Local; 4) Origin; 5) Dimensions; 6) Weight; 7) Mineralogical classification; 8) Typology; 9) Conservation status; 10) References. All the data led us to consider still the great potential of archaeological study that exist in the sphinx zoomorphic artifacts; research potential, in view of the unpublished materials found, in the technical reserves of the state museums; possibilities of studies, outside the country, involving the zoomorfos sambaquieiros.
