Investigation of the properties of protective compositions contacting with acid–containing waste gases formed during the production of secondary aluminum in CAT‑0,15, CAT‑0,5 and CAT‑2,5

The paper analyzes the mineral acid vapors formation and their interaction with protective coatings based on bentonite clays, periclasite and shungite. A theoretical assessment of the acid vapor in the exhaust gases amount was carried out taking into account the performance of furnaces. Thermodynami...

Zusammenfassung:The paper analyzes the mineral acid vapors formation and their interaction with protective coatings based on bentonite clays, periclasite and shungite. A theoretical assessment of the acid vapor in the exhaust gases amount was carried out taking into account the performance of furnaces. Thermodynamic probability of acid vapor formation was calculated depending on the melting conditions for different types of melting units, the interaction of acid vapor with the components of protective coatings based on bentonite clays, periclasite and shungite was estimated.
