Zusammenfassung: | Introduction: Among the physiological changes that occur with the aging process, fluid losses and decreased fluid intake and thirst sensation are factors that make older adults more susceptible to dehydration. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the intake of water and other beverages among older adults, diabetics and non-diabetics, attended at a “Clínica Escola de Saúde” in São Paulo. Materials and Methods: Cross-sectional study consisting of 78 older adults men and women, diabetics and non-diabetics. The verification of daily consumption of water and other liquids occurred through the application of the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ). Mean, standard deviation and median consumption of beverages and water were used.
