A case of miliaria profunda after excessive sweating during a summer vacation

We present the case of an otherwise healthy 34‐year‐old man of Asian descent diagnosed with miliaria profunda after a 6‐week history of generalised anhidrosis after a trip to Mallorca in the summer. A 34‐year‐old healthy man presented with a 6‐week history of anhidrosis and heat intolerance after a trip to Mallorca. He experienced nonpruritic, transient papular lesions during overheating, accompanied by dizziness and palpitations. Examination revealed anhidrosis in affected areas and hyperhidrosis in axillary and palmoplantar regions. Histology confirmed miliaria profunda with periductal lymphocytic infiltration and spongiosis. Initial treatments, including lanolin and topical steroids, failed. Doxycycline and isotretinoin were successful in reducing symptoms, with isotretinoin providing longer‐lasting relief. No standardized treatment exists for this condition.
