Zusammenfassung:The objective of this paper is to define Business Intelligence and to identify the information and communication technologies that support to this type of information system. A context is made about the concept and typologies of information systems (IS). Data Warehouse, Data Mart and Data Mining are the technological resources of Back-end system, used to store important data and to extract patterns of behavior and tendencies of the organizational processes. DSS (Decision Support Systems), EIS (Executive Information Systems) and OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) tools are Front-end systems for Business Intelligence solutions. Through these systems the user transforms the information in strategic knowledge for the obtaining competitive advantages.
