Zusammenfassung:The numerous editions of the "Code Soleil" which have successively been published since 1923, bear witness to the recurrent attachment of schoolmasters to this professional document which may be considered canonical both in its legislative and in its ethical aspects. Vocation and republican faith, educational and teaching relationship, model of citicenship, lay loyality, make up the typical ideal of schoolmasters. Significantly, all its normative and prescriptive nature has disappeared with the ethical chapter in the latest issues, now reduced to merely legislative and statutory information.
