Zusammenfassung: | Research on foreign language learning and teaching has often focused on the learner and on learning processes. In contrast to the orientation towards the learner, the foreign language teacher has more seldom been a prominent topic of research; in fact, he has often been neglected. This paper tries to show which conceptions of the foreign language teacher can be read into some selected results that research on the foreign language learner has produced so far. As a consequence, the possible contribution that research on professionalization can make in order to obtain more information on the foreign language teacher will be discussed. (Verlag, adapt.). |
