Zusammenfassung: | The rise in physical inactivity among children and adolescents is a global concern that requires effective school-based inter-ventions to promote active lifestyles. This systematic review evaluated the effectiveness of physical education interventionsdesigned to encourage physical activity and reduce sedentary behavior in this population. A comprehensive search was conducted in databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, covering studies published between 2000 and 2023. Twenty-five studies that assessed programs implemented in primary and secondary schools were included. The results indicate that the most effective interventions include the integration of interactive technologies, continuous training for physical education teachers, and involvement of the school community. These strategies demonstrated a significant increase in time spent on moderate to vigorous physical activity and areduction in screen time outside school hours. However, the heterogeneity in study designs and the lack of long-term follow-up limit the ability to generalize the findings. It is concluded that physical education interventions that adopt a comprehensive approach, incorporating multiple educational and community collaboration components, have a positive impacton promoting active lifestyles among children and adolescents. Nevertheless, it is crucial that future research explores the sustainability of these effects over the long term and de-velops innovative strategies that can be applied in diverse school settings.
