A não observância da dimensão cidadã das crianças na cobertura de ataques a escolas

This paper examines the disregard for children's rights evident in the media coverage of a school shooting that occurred in the city of Blumenau, Santa Catarina, in April 2023. It hypothesizes that one of the reasons why children suffer violations of rights through the work of the press is in the conception of childhood that is built from the modern thought, which weakens its citizenship dimension. Consequently, we sought in other matrices of thought for different childhood conceptions that can contribute to reflections in the field of journalism about how children are addressed in the press. Este trabalho discute os desrespeitos aos direitos das crianças, encontrados na cobertura do ataque a uma instituição infantil de ensino, ocorrido na cidade catarinense de Blumenau, em abril de 2023. Tem como hipótese que uma das razões pelas quais as crianças sofrem violações de direitos a partir do trabalho da imprensa está na concepção de infância que se constrói com base no pensamento moderno, que fragiliza sua dimensão de sujeito de direito e ser político, ao apartar as crianças de diversas dimensões da coletividade. Por isso, busca em outras matrizes de pensamento concepções de infância que podem contribuir com reflexões do campo de jornalismo sobre a criança na imprensa.
