Zusammenfassung: | The Green Revolution, a period where the intensive use of chemical products, excessive use of machinery, the industrialization of agriculture, caused a negative impact on the environment. As a result of the terrible situation, a current of Agroecology arose at the beginning of the 80s that labeled as inappropriate what was happening at that time for the peasants since agrochemical technology with high environmental impact and an irrational agricultural activity were used. Agroecology is the fundamental science to guide the conversion of conventional systems towards more diversified and self-sufficient systems, in harmony with the environment and the optimization of the agroecosystem. It defines the ecological principles necessary to develop sustainable production systems within socio-economic and cultural frameworks such as: Plant and animal diversification at the species level, recycling of nutrients and organic matter, optimization of nutrient availability and nutrient flow balances. , etc. Within the agroecological movement, biopreparations play an extremely important role, especially biostimulants, substances or microorganisms that, when applied to plants, are capable of improving their efficiency, in absorption and assimilation of nutrients, tolerance to biotic and abiotic stress. The use of these products has expanded to all countries and Cuba has been one of the first countries to implement agroecology and biostimulants, having very good results with recognized national biostimulants. Today more than ever it is of utmost importance to increase and extend production, their positive contributions to the sovereignty and food security of the planet in general and even more so in Cuba.
