Zusammenfassung:The school as an institution is one of the social agents that plays a fundamental role in the development of environmental education of students. Educational institution should function as catalysts of these processes and involve their members in the quest for solutions to solve environmental problems and encourage attitudes and values of commitment to the environmental and social improvement of the environment. The Carlos Ulloa junior high school and the community in which it is located are affected by environmental problems such as acoustic, atmospheric, and water pollution, the presence of micro dumps, irregularity in the collection of solid waste, and irregularity in the sanitation of green areas, among others; whose origin stems from inadequacies in the environmental education processes. The objective of the current research aims at designing an environmental communication program for students of the Carlos Ulloa junior high school. As a result, it is expected that once implemented it will contribute to increasing the skills and knowledge on environmental education of students and teachers, which are necessary for an adequate interpretation of the world and a corresponding social action, and provide them with the tools for implementing responsible environmental practices. Empirical methods such as documentary analysis, observation, and measurement, as well as data collection techniques such as the observation guide, in-depth interview, and survey were used for the implementation of the project. La escuela como institución es uno de los agentes sociales que desempeña un papel fundamental en el desarrollo de la educación ambiental de los estudiantes. Las instituciones educativas deben funcionar como catalizadoras de estos procesos e involucrar a sus miembros en la búsqueda de soluciones para resolver los problemas del medio ambiente y promover en ellos actitudes y valores de compromiso con la mejora ambiental y social de su medio. La secundaria básica Carlos Ulloa y la comunidad en la que se encuentra enclavada se ve afectada por problemáticas ambientales como contaminación sonora, atmosférica y de las aguas, presencia de microvertederos e irregularidad en la recogida de desechos sólidos, irregularidad en la higienización de las áreas verdes, entre otros; cuya base son las insuficiencias en los procesos de educación ambiental.
