Zusammenfassung: | A sedentary lifestyle in adolescents, characterized by a lack of physical activity, can have negative consequences for physical and mental health. Factors such as the use of electronic devices, academic pressures, lack of resources and family habits contribute to this problem. Promoting healthy habits is crucial, since physical activity and a balanced diet positively impact academic performance, emotional well-being and disease prevention. The participation of families and educational centers, through specific programs and school policies, is essential to address sedentary lifestyle. Continuously evaluating these initiatives is essential to measure their impact. The objective of this research is to know the healthy habits in relation to physical activity and nutrition in adolescent students in Ecuador, as well as the support of families and educational institutions. A descriptive and correlational quantitative research design has been used. A sample of 2877 adolescent students from Ecuador has been taken. Data collection was carried out using a validated questionnaire. The results reflect the importance of understanding the determinants of physical activity in Ecuadorian adolescents. By applying these findings in health policies, sedentary lifestyle can be combated and an active lifestyle promoted. A deeper understanding of the factors that influence physical activity allows for the development of more effective interventions adapted to the needs of this population, benefiting the long-term health of adolescents and contributing to the general well-being of the community.
El sedentarismo en adolescentes, caracterizado por la falta de actividad física, puede tener consecuencias negativas para la salud física y mental. Factores como el uso de dispositivos electrónicos, presiones académicas, falta de recursos y hábitos familiares contribuyen a este problema. Fomentar hábitos saludables es crucial, ya que la actividad física y una alimentación equilibrada impactan positivamente en el rendimiento académico, bienestar emocional y prevención de enfermedades. La participación de familias y centros educativos, a través de programas específicos y políticas escolares, es fundamental para abordar el sedentarismo.
