Zusammenfassung:In the present research, we studied gaming and students' cognitive development using a literature review and analytical methods in the context of a descriptive non-experimental research. Through a comprehensive review of the existing literature, we sought to clarify the meaning and importance of games in students' cognitive development. This analytical approach allows for a detailed study of different dimensions of play, examining how game activities affect basic cognitive skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, and creativity. A literature review approach provides a powerful framework for examining previous research and synthesizing key findings to provide a comprehensive picture of the role of play in students' cognitive development, yielding the following results: the characteristic relationship between play and cognitive development is highlighted, it is observed that play positively impacts various cognitive dimensions, activating memory, stimulating attention and concentration, fostering creativity and imagination, and providing opportunities for the development of higher cognitive skills, concluding that lack of pedagogical awareness and resource constraints are significant obstacles to the full utilization of games as an educational tool, academic pressure and disciplinary prioritization also negatively affect the integration of recreational activities in educational institutions. The need to address these issues to ensure that students can take full advantage of play for their cognitive development is highlighted. En la presente investigación se estudió el juego y el desarrollo cognitivo de los estudiantes utilizando una revisión de la literatura y métodos analíticos en el contexto de una investigación descriptiva no experimental. A través de una revisión exhaustiva de la literatura existente, buscamos esclarecer el significado y la importancia de los juegos en el desarrollo cognitivo de los estudiantes. Este enfoque analítico permite un estudio detallado de diferentes dimensiones del juego, examinando cómo las actividades de juego afectan las habilidades cognitivas básicas como la resolución de problemas, el pensamiento crítico y la creatividad.
