Estrategias de desarrollo local con un enfoque en el contexto territorial del cantón tulcán provincia del Carchi

This study focused on the local development of the Tulcán canton, several criteria of authors were chosen, their ideas and different visions of the conception of local development. The contribution of this research consists of the analysis of the territory, and finding the alternatives that it has, seeking that the strategies proposed are appropriate to the canton. In Ecuador, local development, despite being a transcendent issue, has not awakened in-depth studies. This is due to the fact that civil society and state institutions, even when they have a direct involvement, consider it as "just another fashion", not as a need to act or articulate different visions and local needs. When they refer to local development, they combine the term with citizen participation. The objective of this work was to make a description of the Tulcán canton, with demographic, social and economic information. Different strategies adaptable to the territory were identified, the same one that is expected to generate economic, social and cultural dynamism, and the summary table of the strategies was finally elaborated. Several problems faced by the canton were found, one of them is that the population of Tulcán migrates to large cities due to not having economic stability, due to the fact that the main activity, which is agriculture and livestock, however, the young population does not She is interested in these activities, so at an early age she migrates especially to the capital of Ecuador Este estudio se enfocó en el desarrollo local del cantón Tulcán, se escogió varios criterios de autores, sus ideas y distintas visiones de la concepción del desarrollo local. El aporte de esta investigación consiste en el análisis del territorio, y encontrar las alternativas que tiene el mismo, buscando que las estrategias planteadas sean apropiadas al cantón. En Ecuador el desarrollo local, pese a ser un tema trascedente, no ha despertado estudios en profundidad. Esto es debido a que la sociedad civil y las instituciones estatales, aun cuando tienen un involucramiento directo, lo consideran como “una moda” más, no como una necesidad de accionar o articular distintas visiones y necesidades locales. Cuando se refieren a desarrollo local, combinan el termino con participación ciudadana. El objetivo de este trabajo fue realizar una descripción del cantón Tulcán, con información demográfica, social y económica. Se identificó diferentes estrategias adaptables al territorio, el mismo que se prevé q
