Zusammenfassung:The Latin American context and its high rates of urban informality have been analyzed from various social disciplines. The link established between neighborhood organizations and the State has been one of the topics of study, although there is an overrepresentation of what happens in large cities, in relation to intermediate cities. This work is the product of an ethnographic investigation that aimed to review the neighborhood organization practices of those who live in informal settlements and the way in which they dispute with the State to achieve the urban integration of their neighborhood in a medium-sized Patagonian city.
