Zusammenfassung:The present study collects, processes and analyzes floristic data to understand the structure, composition and state of the vegetation cover of the páramos of the Ichubamba-Yasepan protected area, for which the sample corresponding to the number of plots in which data was collected was determined. having a total of 22 plots, in which the GLORIA plot methodology was applied. The samples obtained were identified in the ESPOCH herbarium. The Simpson index had a value of 0.9522 similar to sampling 2 where a value of 0.8666 was obtained, which indicates that there is a high diversity of species since the closer to value 1 there is a greater probability that two individuals taken at random from a sample are of the same (dominant) species. The Shannon index shows that the páramos of the protected area Ichubamba Yasepan, presents a high diversity since it obtained values of 3,132 in sampling 1 and 2,247 in sampling 2. Calamagrostis intermedia(J.Presl) Steud is the species with the greatest vegetation cover in sampling 1 with 8.04 importance value (IVI), 6.39% relative density (DR%) and with 9.70% relative frequency (FR%), it should also be mentioned that Lachemilla orbiculata (Ruiz &Pav.) Rydb, with higher values in sampling 1 and 2., it is the species that stands out with 23.07 importance value (IVI), 23.56% relative density and with relative frequency 22.58% in sampling 2, it should be noted that this species is found in disturbed areas , their presence in the protected area could be due to the presence of cattle. In what has to do with types of vegetation, as well as sampling 1 and 2, there are different types of vegetation and that could perhaps be due to some degree of disturbance; especially due to the presence of Lachemilla orbiculata found in the two samples. In the páramo grasslands of Ecuador, the most diverse families in genera and species are Asteraceae and Poaceae, which occupy relevant places. According to the results obtained in this study, it affirms that in the páramos of the study, the families with the greatest biodiversity are Poaceae, Asteraceae and Rosaceae, which are families rich in species and genera.
