Experiencias de vinculación con la sociedad en la comunidad Santa Martha, parroquia Río Chico del Cantón Portoviejo, provincia de Manabí

The link with society as a function of the university context has been subject to a series of definitions and/or visions of a political and academic nature, necessary to maintain correspondence with the states of development of the university in society. The relationship between the academic function of the university and community practices, as part of education for the citizenship of the future professional, is of vital importance, this connection can be done in a unique way, putting the learning entity in contact with the entity of service, or it can be more articulated, fostering relationships through a local educational network. The starting point of community bonding is respect for the other and that respect requires establishing an attitude of openness to the knowledge of that different people. For the aforementioned, the present research aims to systematize experiences of connection with the society of the students of the Social Work Career of the Technical University of Manabí (UTM), developed in the community "Santa Martha", Ríochico Parish, of Portoviejo county. To carry out this research, a descriptive and retrospective study was carried out, adopting a bibliographic approach for the analysis of the conceptual theories of the topic and which served as a basis for defining the family strengthening and the crisis in the family. The documentary compilation, based on the report of the execution of the project of connection with the society developed by the students in the Santa Martha community of the Riochico parish, data that rest in the archives of the Career of Social Work-UTM. The results allowed us to conclude that the development of the project had a positive impact in improving the psychosocial relationships of the family environment of the inhabitants of the Santa Martha community of the Riochico Parish of Portoviejo County, who were able to overcome many of the psychosocial traumas caused by the earthquake of April 16, 2016.
