Zusammenfassung:Leishmaniasis is a group of zoonotic diseases caused by protozoa of the genus Leishmania, leaves serious physical consequences, this disease affects man and dog, is transmitted through the bite of female phlebotomas, mosquitoes that according to the country takes different names, in Ecuador it is known as “arenilla. The disease frequently affects the poorest regions of the planet and associated with malnutrition, population displacements, poor housing conditions, weak immune system, lack of resources and environmental changes, such as deforestation. According to the WHO, an estimated 1.3 million new cases occur annually and between 20,000 and 30,000 of them die, so this research investigates this vector disease to learn about medical and scientific advances, especially how it affects to children for being the most vulnerable, that is why it is necessary to know the implications, as well as to have specific resources and programs to prevent the reproduction of the transmitting insect. This is a disease that leaves physical and psychological consequences to those who have suffered. A combined leishmaniasis vaccine is currently being tested. The issue is interdisciplinary because it involves doctors and teachers professionally, it is necessary for academic staff to familiarize themselves with the symptoms of this disease to know how Leishmaniasis affects students and help them to be more effectively included in the teaching and learning processes. ensure that this vulnerable group does not lower their academic performance. La Leishmaniasis o Leishmaniosis es un conjunto de enfermedades zoonóticas provocadas por protozoos del género Leishmania, deja graves secuelas físicas, esta enfermedad afecta al hombre y al perro, se transmite a través de la picadura de hembras flebótomas, mosquitos que según el país toma distintos nombres, en Ecuador se lo conoce como “arenilla”. La enfermedad afecta con frecuencia a las regiones más pobres del planeta, asociada a la malnutrición, los desplazamientos de población, las malas condiciones de vivienda, la debilidad del sistema inmunitario, falta de recursos y cambios ambientales, como la deforestación. Según la OMS, se estima anualmente se producen 1,3 millones de nuevos casos y entre 20.000 y 30.000 de ellos mueren, por esto la presente investigación indaga respecto a esta enfermedad vectorial para conocer los avances médicos y científicos, en especial la manera cómo afecta a los niños por ser los más vulnerables, por eso es
