Zusammenfassung:Inclusive education has become a reality full of challenges and opportunities for educational institutions. Aim. Analyze the challenges and opportunities that arise in school institutions related to inclusive education. Methodology. A descriptive methodology supported by documentary review wasused, based on search criteria referring to public policies aimed at inclusion, support and guidance for teachers and the challenges and opportunities currently faced. Results. 1. The role of the school and its direct relationship with the educational andsocial problems that inclusion represents are confirmed. 2. Public policies aimed at inclusion are also implemented within school systems, educational centers and classrooms.3. The need to continue advising and training teachers to attend to educational diversity is confirmed.4. The challenges facing inclusive education in educational institutions are extremely complex; precisely because of the diversity that is manifested in each class group, the limitations present in teachers to carry out curricular adaptations and give timely responses to inclusion, the limited resources and the lack of adequate infrastructures5. Work in an integrated manner between school institutions, the administration and public powers together with the family are essential to turn the challenges of inclusion into real opportunities for all students. Conclusions. The relationship between public policies and the development of pedagogical and curricular actions that allow strengthening the processes of educational inclusion is corroborated. It was evidenced that even inclusive education impliesa great challenge; precisely because the advances achieved to date do not overcome the barriers that persist in the context of inclusive education, requiring the development of actions that allow true transformations and turn challenges into opportunities. La educación inclusiva se ha convertido en una realidad llena de desafíos y oportunidades para las instituciones educativas. Objetivo. Analizar los desafíos y oportunidades que se presentan en las instituciones escolares relacionados con la educación inclusiva. Metodología. Se utilizó una metodología descriptiva apoyada en la revisión documental, sobre la base de criterios de búsqueda referentes a las políticas públicas dirigidas a la inclusión, el acompañamiento y orientación a los docentes y los desafíos y oportunidades que se enfrentan en la actualidad.
