Zusammenfassung:OBJECTIVE: This study aims to analyze master’s and doctoral research on the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), in order to understand how the issue of difference is considered in the organization of teaching.METHODS: It is characterized as a review study and was organized from searches for dissertations and theses that present discussions about the IEP. The searches were carried out in the Capes theses and dissertations catalog, using the defined descriptor: “Individualized Educational Plan”. The theoretical productions that composed the material of analysis of this research consisted of: ten master’s dissertations and two doctoral theses. RESULTS: Two categories were established for analysis and reflection: a) Understanding the IEP in teaching and learning processes; b) Understanding the difference in teaching and learning processes. The first category of analysis allowed us to identify that the PEI is presented in research as an important pedagogical instrument in the organization of teaching, for learning and for the development of students with special educational needs, in order to contribute to an effective process of school inclusion. In the second category, we observed that the analyzed studies do not present a specific theoretical-conceptual discussion about difference, but they present discussions and reflections about difference from their objects of study, which allow us to identify understandings about difference, as an integral part of the process of teaching and learning.CONCLUSION: We understand that for the organization of an inclusive Physical Education, which considers the differences in teaching and learning activities, it is necessary to change the teaching organization, which must go through all stages of the training process. From this demand for changes, we consider that the PEI is an instrument to be explored and experimented in different situations of teaching Physical Education at school.
