Fernando el Católico en la obra de Lucio Marineo Sículo: el arte de la propaganda

The Catholic Kings used manifestly the chronicle as a means through which to exercise propaganda. This idealized construction of the monarchs will not only be fundamental in his reign, but will also influence the further vision of both. In the present article we will analyze the figure of Fernando the Catholic from the work of Lucio Marineo Sículo and how the Italian chronicler constructs the archetype of the "perfect king" from the Aragonese monarch. Los Reyes Católicos utilizaron de forma manifiesta la cronística como un medio a través del cual ejercer propaganda. Dicha construcción idealizada de los monarcas no solo será fundamental en su reinado, sino que también influirá en la visión ulterior de ambos. En el presente artículo analizaremos la figura de Fernando el Católico a partir de la obra de Lucio Marineo Sículo y cómo el cronista italiano construye el arquetipo del “rey perfecto” a partir del monarca aragonés.
