Zusammenfassung: | The Agrobiodiversity Fairs contribute, through participatory selection, to the maintenance and increase of the biodiversity of species and cultivars of economic interest to farmers. The objective of the work was to evaluate the effect of participatory selection in the identification of foreign and commercial cultivars of common beans, outstanding for their agro-productive performance, according to the preferences of the producers, in the edaphoclimatic conditions of the "La Victoria" Farm, CCS “Braulio Curuneaux”. The cultivars with the highest percentage of selection, the percentage of effective diversity, the selection criteria of the producers were determined, in addition the participatory selection and its relationship with the agricultural yield of the cultivars under study were evaluated. The cultivars with the highest percentage of selection were Delicia-364 and INIVIT-PB (81.8 %), followed by Velazco Largo (54.5 %), later Liliana and La Cuba-154 (45.5 %). The effective diversity was 78.6 %, a sign of adaptation to local edaphoclimatic conditions and great acceptance of the materials exhibited at the fair. The selection criteria taken into account by the participants were grain color (100%), grains per pod (90.9%), number of pods per plant (81.8%), resistance to pests (63.6%). and grain size (45.4 %). The coincidence between the percentage of selection and the cultivars yield was 88.8 %;all the cultivars with the best yields were selected by at least one actor, except the cultivar C-23 with a yield of 1.39 t.ha-1 that was not selected.
