Zusammenfassung: | The purpose of the following article is to analyze in a unified way two of the constants of the literary work of Miguel Delibes: childhood and death. This is intended to show that the frequency with which both extremes intersect is not a coincidence, as the author himself acknowledged. To do this, each of the infant deaths in Delibes' novelistic work is analyzed, noting their typologies and the relevance they have in the plot. And is that many of Delibes's works would not be possible
without the death of one of his childhood characters, either because his death is the starting point of the story or because it is the cause that justifies the outcome of the text. Keywords: Spanish literature, Miguel Delibes, chilhood, death.
