Zusammenfassung:A survey of Marian tópoi and mariological concepts in Insular literature of the High Middle Ages (8th-11th centuries) allows to study Latin medieval hymnody in greater depth from a comparative perspective, while considering vernacular poetry. Taking into account this connection, some specific cases of Marian poetry from Ireland and England are studied here: examples of Insular hymnody, in particular the Hiberno-Latin poem Hymnus S. Cú Chuimne in laudem S. Mariae (8th century), and hymns attributed to Bede the Venerable (8th century), as well as some Marian excerpts from the poem Christ I, or the Advent Lyrics (Codex Exoniensis, 10th century), in Old English. A vernacular poetic and conceptual inheritance survives and is adapted in these texts, where it can also be perceived, to no lesser extent, a clear connection with images that belong to the liturgical hymnody. In Christ I, for example, it is possible to glimpse the translation into Old English of concepts and hymnodic vocabulary and its insertion into a format of epic discourse. One of the invocations found throughout the poem, Eala wifa wynn, is perfectly comparable to other expressions referring to the Virgin in liturgical texts of Marian festivals, in 8th- to 10th-centuries prayer-books and antiphonaries, and in the/her hymnody: Ave decus virginum, Salve decus mulierum, Mater miranda, among others. And not infrequently, the Marian context also conveys cosmic images of the light and the skies (sublimis inter sidera) as in the Latin hymns. Una exploración de los tópoi marianos y de los conceptos mariológicos en la literatura insular de la Alta Edad Media (siglos VIII-XI) permite, por un lado, profundizar el estudio de la himnodia medieval latina en una perspectiva comparada y, por otro, considerar a un tiempo la poesía vernácula. Teniendo en cuenta esta vinculación, se estudiarán algunos casos puntuales de poesía mariana de Irlanda e Inglaterra: algunas piezas de la himnodia insular, en especial, el poema latino-hibérnico Hymnus S. Cú Chuimne in laudem S. Mariae (siglo VIII) e himnos atribuidos a Beda el Venerable (siglo VIII), así como algunos pasajes marianos del poema Christ I o Advent Lyrics (Codex Exoniensis, siglo X), en inglés antiguo. En estos textos, una herencia poética y conceptual vernácula pervive y se adapta y, en no menor medida, una clara conexión con imágenes de la himnodia litúrgica también puede percibirse.
