Teatro e cinema: uma perspectiva histórica

The paper analyzes, from a historical perspective, the relationship between theater and cinema. Upon emergence of cinema, theater undergoes major changes related to urbanization and the technical innovations, such as the advent of electri-city that will modify the theatrical scene, adding new possibilities of creation and reception of works. Initially regarded as rival arts, theater and cinema are to relate in an increasingly intense, establishing an indissoluble partnership. From “filmed theater” to “movie theater,” experiments of the Symbolists post-dramatic theater, the boundaries of the specificities and differen-ces are diluted in the meeting of plural arts and fragmentary. O artigo pretende analisar, a partir de uma perspectiva histórica, as relações entre teatro e cinema. No momento do surgimento do cinema, o teatro passa por transformações importantes ligadas à urbanização e às inovações técnicas, como o advento da eletrici-dade que irá modificar a cena teatral, incorporando novas possibilidades de criação e de recepção das obras. inicialmente, consideradas artes rivais, teatro e cinema passam a se relacionar de forma cada vez mais intensa, esta-belecendo uma parceria indissolúvel. Do “teatro filmado”ao “filme de teatro”, das experiências simbolistas ao teatro pós-dramático, as fronteiras das especificidades e diferenças se diluem no encontro de artes plurais e fragmentárias.
