Zusammenfassung: | Escobar. J (2003), mentions that the first sensitive hydrogel was synthesized by Katchalsky in 1941, it was prepared by crosslinking a soluble poly electrolyte, which swelled and contracted in response to changes in pH, temperature, and ionic strength. Dusek and Patterson in 1968 postulated the possible existence of a discontinuous phase transition in the swollen volume of the hydrogel, indicating that the swollen state and the contracted state can coexist in it. This research work was carried out in the "El Azúcar" Commune belonging to the province of Santa Elena, in order to measure the level of acceptance of a polymer gel in order to provide solutions that mitigate the problems generated in the crops. For the analysis, surveys were conducted to the community members of the area in order to know the main problems in the sector that cause the loss of crops, and it was confirmed that in most cases it is caused by floods and / or drought, which that leads to economic losses in large percentages. It is for this reason that the introduction of the polymer gel product whose main function is to retain, capture, maintain and prevent water from seeping and serves for all types of crops was considered a viable solution. In addition, it can be used to retain and provide the vital liquid to the plant, absorbing up to 700 times its weight in water, turning into natural gel in a few minutes in a non-toxic, non-polluting and ultimately harmless way. Keywords:gel, polymer, acceptance, Target Market, Demand, Offer
