Per l'edizione critica della pregunta di Diogo Goncalves de Montemor-o-Novo

This article offers some notes of textual criticism as a preliminary to a new critical edition of the pregunta of Diogo Gonçalves de Montemor-o-Novo, one of the 15th century poems included in the Colocci's Portuguese Cancioneiros. The article focuses mainly on the incipit, particularly problematic because of the readings of two manuscripts (B and V). After a careful contextualization of this poem within 15th century Iberian poetry, it is proposed to accept the lesson of B (Com'homem ferido sem ferro e sem pao) vs the lesson of V, hitherto preferred by editors, albeit with a different degree of interventionism. Furthermore, it is suggested a different hypothesis for the interpretation of vv. 14-15 and, more generally, of the entire text.
