Zusammenfassung:The present contribution aims to examine the motives, structures and functions of some of the most important narratives of the 2008 economic crisis from a distance of 10 years. It is shown that the central structures and features of the narratives of crisis victims, conspiracy theorists, discussion participants, newspaper journalists, and economic and culturalist narratives can be understood as a response to a loss of legitimacy caused by the lack of large meta-narratives.
