Intervención educativa en adultos mayores sobre la enfermedad renal crónica

Introduction: chronic kidney disease is a serious public health problem due to the high risk of death and disability it causes in those who suffer from it, as well as the high costs of treatments worldwide. Objective: to evaluate the effectiveness of an educational intervention on chronic kidney disease for older adults in the period January-February 2019. Method: a non-observational, quasi-experimental study having a before and after design without a control group was carried out in older adults allocated at Joaquín de Agüero y Agüero University Polyclinic. The sample comprised 50 patients chosen according to inclusion and exclusion criteria and intentional nonprobabilistic sampling. This study was developed in three stages: diagnosis, intervention and evaluation. The absolute and relative percentage frequency was used and 15 articles were reviewed.
