Cost effectiveness of the investment in local archaeological heritage. the case of the Roman Villa of Salar (Granada)

The firm wager of the City Council of Salar for the investment in research, conservation and enhancement of the homonymous Roman villa, has led to a revolution in this small town in Granada, which has seen in this heritage , not just an identity and cultural reference , but an alternative for its precarious economic fabric, based on sustainable and quality tourism. In this way, and in a few years, this investment is demonstrated, not only socially amortized, but economically profitable. La apuesta decidida del Ayuntamiento de Salar por la inversión en la investigación, conservación y puesta en valor de la villa romana homónima, ha supuesto una revolución en este pequeño municipio granadino, que ha visto en este bien patrimonial, no solo un referente identitario y cultural, sino una alternativa para su precario tejido económico, basada en el turismo sostenible y de calidad. De este modo, y en muy pocos años, dicha inversión se demuestra, no solo amortizada socialmente, sino rentable económicamente.
